Pennyroyal Arts Council ready to kick off the holiday season

The Hoptown Holiday Hopfest is fast approaching for the Alhambra Theatre, and after that, the Pennyroyal Arts Council turns their attention to the annual performance of the Nutcracker.

Arts Council Director Margaret Prim says they’re excited to host the musical group Lonestar on Saturday, with the show starting at 7 p.m.—tickets will be available at the door and all money raised goes back to benefiting the historic theater. Prim says they’ll likely be looking to update and improve the sound system.

Following the Hopfest, they’ll immediately redecorate and get the theater ready for performances of the Nutcracker in partnership with Brooke Bailey Dance Addiction—where kids in costume and ready to show their skills will take the stage.

After a week of final rehearsals, the show gets underway December 1 at 6:30 p.m., then two more shows December 2 at 6:30 p.m. and then December 3 at 2 p.m. Prim says the event is a ton of fun and a great holiday tradition.

Tickets for the Nutcracker can be purchased online at pennyroyalarts.org.
