After Black Friday sales conclude for retail corporations, Saturday is Small Business Saturday which encourages holiday shopping at local businesses, and Hopkinsville small business are being spotlighted and offering discounts to shoppers.
Laura Faulkner with the Downtown Renaissance District says they are partnering with J. Schrecker Jewelry for Shop Small Saturday where 19 businesses in downtown will be offering discounts and starting Saturday through Christmas, 37 small businesses will be decorated for the holidays and highlighted on this year’s Trail of Trees.
Faulkner says local businesses participating in the Trail of Trees will be pinpointed on a map that will be posted on the Hopkinsville-Christian County Downtown Farmer’s Market Facebook page.
Shop Small Saturday is a nationally recognized and Faulkner says it is important for people to shop locally because those businesses reinvest that money back into the community.
Shop Small Saturday kicks off in Downtown Hopkinsville at 10 a.m. and runs through 1 p.m.
