A Hopkinsville man was charged following a disturbance on Glass Avenue where he allegedly assaulted a woman.
According to the Hopkinsville police report, 40-year-old William Comperry and a female victim had been in a disagreement most of the day Friday, and when the victim asked Comperry to leave he reportedly punched her in the face and then placed her in a headlock.
The victim reportedly had redness around her throat and swelling on her face.
Comperry was arrested and charged with fourth-degree assault and second-degree strangulation.
