City of Madisonville invites community to holiday festivities

With winter holidays right around the corner, the City of Madisonville is working to transform the Madisonville City Park into a winter light display for this year’s Deck the Park.

Luci Bess the Director of Events for Madisonville appeared on WHOP to share what they have in store for the community as winter approaches.

Bess says the park’s transformation is well underway with lights already being strung in trees and light tunnel display being installed.

Along with the light displays, Bess says kids will be able to take pictures with Santa, enjoy a Ferris wheel, carousel and a snowman inflatable bounce house. Along with the child activities their will be food trucks and vendors every Friday, Saturday and Sunday along the duration of Deck the Park.

Bess says the festivities will start on Thanksgiving and run through New Year’s Day from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. every evening. To kick off Deck the Park Bess says they will be hosting a drive-in movie at the park on Friday.
