Christian County Schools Announces Decision to Not Proceed with Early Consolidation

HOPKINSVILLE, KY (November 13, 2023). Christian County Public Schools has announced the decision has been made NOT to proceed with the early consolidation of its high schools, athletics, or extra-curricular programming prior to the finished construction of the new Christian County High School. Instead, the district plans to shift its focus towards cultivating excitement and unity while prioritizing students through enriched learning opportunities and enhanced extra-curricular and athletic advancements.

“As we progress towards the opening of the new high school, our goal is to improve academic, athletic, and extracurricular opportunities for all students,” said CCPS Superintendent Chris Bentzel. “We want to provide clarity to our families in our direction and be intentional in our focus over the next two years.”

The new Christian County High School, located on Ft. Campbell Blvd., is scheduled to open in the fall of 2026 and will combine all high school campuses into one, including career and technical programming.
