Two file to run for seats on Hopkinsville City Council

With Election Day in the rear view mirror, some folks are already looking ahead to the next one, as two locals filed to run for Hopkinsville City Council Thursday.

One of those was former Hopkinsville Police Chief Clayton Sumner, who filed to run as a Republican in Ward 7, the seat currently held by councilman Doug Wilcox.

And then in Ward 8, Seth Adam Meek filed to run as a Republican for the City Council seat currently held by Councilman Terry Meek.

The filing deadline to run for partisan offices that will be on the ballot in 2024 in January 5, while the deadline for those who want to seek non-partisan office positions is in June.
