The community is invited to honor and celebrate our local veterans this Saturday with the annual Veterans Honor Parade in Hopkinsville.
The parade is hosted by Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation, the Christian County Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee, Christian Fiscal Court and Veterans of Foreign War Post 1913 and will start at 10 a.m. at the War Memorial Building.
Parks and Recreation Superintendent Toby Hudson says from there, the parade will make its way to the Christian County Justice Center where it will conclude with a short ceremony.
The event is free to attend and Hudson says it’s a just a way they can show their gratitude to local veterans for their service and sacrifices.
The JROTC challenge between local schools is also set to take place, along with the friendly Sidewalk Saluters competition, where the school with the most students at the parade in support of local veterans wins.
