Gov. Beshear shares second term plans following election win

After the Commonwealth voted for Gov. Andy Beshear to retain his role as Governor for four more years, Beshear alongside Lieutenant Governor Jacqueline Coleman held a brief press conference sharing plans for their second term on Wednesday.

After reflecting on his first term, Beshear says it is time to get back to work, and one item at the top of his agenda is addressing public education and teacher salaries. Beshear says it’s about time for Kentucky teachers receive raises and for universal Pre-K to be established.

Along with his promises in the education sector, Beshear affirms that he will continue to work toward helping Kentuckians who are still recovering from flood and tornado damage.

Under his leadership, Beshear says the state will also continue to have economic growth which will expand job opportunities for Kentuckians.

As Governor, Beshear says his goal is to build a better Kentucky for youth in the state to be able to achieve their own goals.

Overall Beshear says he plans to move Kentucky forward. More about Beshear’s priorities can be found at governor.ky.gov.
