A campaign to help the residents at Western State Hospital have a good Christmas is underway and the community can donate items to help make the holidays a bit brighter.
People can participate in the donation drive in numerous ways, from donating items to making a contribution to the cause, or sponsoring a party for individual units at the Western State Nursing Facility. For a unit of 15 patients, donations can be made of around $150 to purchase refreshments and goodies for a party.
Gifts that can be donated would be for men and women ages 18 and older, ranging from personal hygiene items such as shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothpaste hand lotion, and then gift items such as crosswords and word search books, composition books, playing cards, socks and coloring books.
