As the temperatures start to dip, its time again for fundraising efforts to begin for the Warm the Children program through the Kiwanis Club of Hopkinsville, and they’re putting out the call for donations.
Nikki Chambers is the coordinator for Warm the Children, and says it all began through the late Willie Renshaw, who wanted to bring a program to Hopkinsville that would help local children in some way, and they’ve been helping provide warm clothing to children in need ever since.
They do the bulk of their fundraising in November and December, and Chambers says there are several ways you can donate to the cause.
She says they hope to raise enough money to help provide clothing for 250 kids.
The family of the children selected to participate in Warm the Children get to go shopping with a Kiwanian to select clothing they would like, from coats to shoes to other warm clothing items.
