Hopkinsville man facing multiple charges following high-speed pursuit

A Hopkinsville man is facing numerous charges following a highspeed pursuit on the Pennyrile Parkway early Friday morning.

According to the Christian County Sheriff’s Department, deputies observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on the Parkway and attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver reportedly failed to stop and fled.  The pursuit continued down the Parkway, reaching speeds of approximately 130 miles per hour, before continuing on I-24.

The vehicle veered off of exit 73 and headed down Highway 117, which is when Deputy Danny Collings performed a precision immobilization technique to end the pursuit.

Twenty-four-year-old Tequan Marquez Preston Owen was taken into custody and charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree wanton endangerment, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and several traffic violations.
