Hopkinsville Solid Waste Enterprise is hosting a Household Hazardous Waste Collection on November 4, where citizens can be safely rid of their hazardous trash.
It will take place Saturday, November 4 from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. and Christian Fiscal Court Magistrate Russ Guffey says this is a great way to get rid of those hazardous materials for both the environment and yourself, and you can take it to the recycling center on Mt. Zoar-Latham Road.
He says the list of items they will accept is long, and can found on the Hopkinsville Solid Waste Enterprise Recycling Facebook page—but some of those items include paint, ammonia, anti-freeze, pesticides, all types of cleaners and much more.
Water based paints and used motor oil will not be accepted at this event, along with tires. Citizens must stay in their vehicles while staff unload the items.
