The Kentucky State Cross Country Championship Finals took place at the Lexington Horse Park on October 28th.
With both Hopkinsville and Christian Co. High School competing, the first race of the day was the Class AA boys with Fr. Tyson Cavinder placing 77th and Deavery Ramey coming in AT 138th in the field of 262 runners.
Next up in the Girls AA class of 31 teams and 266 runners, lauren Mayes lead the Lady Tigers on 51st place, followed by Rebecca Wood in 78th, Kaydon Coats in 89th ,
Evelyn Bangart in 174th, and Luanna Acree in 197th (PR).
The Lady Tigers finished in 19th which was the best finish fir them at the state meet since the distance moved up to 5000 meters.
The Christian Co. Boys ran in the AAA class in the field of 284 runners. Junior Michael Webb placed 138th followed by Cayden Cline in 152nd place.
The final race of the day was the AA Class Girls and Taylor Morris finished in 94th place of the 277 runners in the field.
