Two individuals have filed to run for offices in Christian County as write-in candidates as of Friday afternoon, one for Commonwealth’s Attorney and the other for Christian County School Board in District 4.
Commonwealth’s Attorney Stephanie Bolen has filed as a write-in candidate to retain the Commonwealth Attorney’s seat—she will face off against Republican Maureen Leamy in the November 7 general election.
Meanwhile, Caleb Ballard has filed as a write-in candidate for the District 4 seat for Christian County School Board, currently held by Rebecca Pepper, who is also running for the seat. In a news release, Ballard says recent events prompted him to run this year, and he’s pursuing the position with commitment to student achievement while promising transparency and accountability.
Residents will need to write either of their names in on the ballot to cast a vote for Bolen or Ballard. Early voting starts next week at the Christian County Senior Citizens’ Center, the James Bruce Convention Center and the Walnut Street Center with the Boys and Girls Club, with the polls open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on November 2 through November 4.
Then there are 13 voting centers available on Election Day, November 7 from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m.—a list of those locations can be found on the Christian County Clerk’s Office Facebook page.
