With Halloween right around the corner and the winter holiday season not too far down the road, the Oak Grove Tourism Commission is gearing up to transform Valor Hall Conference and Event Center and their Memorial Walking Trail and invites the community to join their festivities.
Commission Event Coordinator, Scarlett Mayfield appeared on WHOP to share what they have in store starting on Saturday with Halloween in the Grove. Mayfield says Valor Hall will be transformed into a haunted house and a trick or treat alley, and there will be hay rides and a pumpkin patch along the trail, all of which is free to the community.
Saturday’s festivities start at 5 p.m. at Valor Hall. During her appearance, Mayfield also highlighted what they have planned for the winter holiday season with Christmas in the Grove on December 15. Mayfield says the 1890s school house on the trail will be transformed into Santa’s Workshop and their will be a parade.
To increase community involvement in this year’s parade, Mayfield says they have announced the information sooner and businesses interested in building a parade float can contact the commission now.
