After nearly four hours of deliberations Tuesday, a jury has found Terrence Stepp not guilty in the 2018 murder of Tamara Dragoo.
Closing arguments wrapped up proceedings Tuesday morning, and then the jury began deliberating around 9:15 a.m.—then just a little after 1 p.m. that afternoon, they returned and delivered their verdict of not-guilty, as read by Judge John Atkins.
Stepp will be released on these charges. He had originally been charged with murder in the incident that occurred at the King’s Court Motel in 2018 that resulted in the death of Dragoo.
Stepp has been in the Christian County Jail on this case since 2020.
