Todd Fiscal Court considers building for Coroner’s Office, adjusts codes

Todd County Fiscal Court is considering the construction of a building for the Todd County Coroner’s Office and approved a change to some administrative codes at Friday’s meeting. 

Todd Coroner Timothy Wells says his office is in need of a building for additional capacity, and it would cost approximately $28,000 to construct.

He says they’re simply don’t have the adequate space they need, and this would help them better serve the people of Todd County.   

No action was taken on the request at Friday’s meeting, as magistrates consider the proposal. In other action, Judge-Executive Todd Mansfield recommended amending a code to reflect that if any road department employees receive training at a cost to the county and then leave their employment within two years, they would be responsible for reimbursing that cost to the county.

Magistrates approved the amended code unanimously.  The court also took the time to recognize local retired teachers by proclaiming the week of October 15 as Retired
