Greenville man receives federal indictment for firearms trafficking

A federal grand jury indicted 57-year-old David Smith of Greenville for firearms trafficking and dealing in firearms without a license on Wednesday.

According to the indictment Smith engaged in firearms trafficking transferring 13 firearms to an individual which he knew could play a role in a felony and engaged in firearms dealing without a license to do so between June 1 and September 14.

Smith will appear before a U.S. magistrate judge in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky on October 26 and faces a maximum prison sentence on 20 years.
