With the goal of helping local animal shelters adopt out their pets and community members find their new furry family member; Respawn Coffee Company is hosting biweekly pet adoption events.
Respawn is a coffee shop in Oak Grove that has a gamer twist offer attendees the opportunity to play virtual reality, computer and arcade games.
Christopher Stange, one the owners of Respawn says the pet adoption events started as a way for them to get more involved with the community. Stange says they reached out to Christian County Animal Shelter and the Humane Society and now work with both to host adoption events.
Stange noted their first adoption event in April as a success, with all of the animals they had available being adopted and since then they have host pet adoption events every other week.
Fellow owner Cassandra Sayles says those who want to also support local pet rescue agencies can donate pet food and toys at the event for the pets who haven’t found homes yet.
Respawn’s next adoption event is in partnership with the Christian County Animal Shelter where dogs and cats will be available for adoption and the shelter will be providing discounted pet microchipping services. The adoption event is on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Respawn at 208 Segler Drive.
