Kentucky State Police are investigating an officer involved shooting that happened in Allen County Saturday afternoon.
According to a news release, the Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team is investigating the incident that occurred on Saturday around 5 p.m. on New Buck Creek Road in Allen County. Officers had been trying to locate a subject involved in a vehicle pursuit in Simpson County earlier that day.
Limited information was immediately available, but a shooting incident occurred where a male subject was pronounced deceased by the Allen County Coroner. A Simpson County Sheriff’s deputy was transported to the hospital after sustaining life-threatening injuries, and is in stable condition.
KSP has statewide jurisdiction and investigates officer-involved shootings throughout the Commonwealth as requested by local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
