Clarksville PD investigating shooting that injured 13-year-old

The Clarksville Police Department is investigating after a 13-year-old girl was shot during an incident in the Summit Heights Housing Area Sunday evening.

According to a news release, officers responded to reports of a shooting around 8 p.m. where a group of juveniles, between the ages of 12-years-old to 16-years-old, had been in a fight. Someone had fired several shots towards the group from down the street. 

While officers were on scene, they were informed by Tennova Healthcare that there was a 13-year-old female victim there who had sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the upper leg. 

She was transported to a Nashville hospital for further treatment.
