CCPS Superintendent talks first nine-weeks, fall break, construction

Fall break starts next week for Christian County Public Schools, which means the first nine-weeks is coming to a close and the superintendent says it’s been a strong start.

Speaking with WHOP News recently, Superintendent Chris Bentzel says he hopes all students and staff have a restful fall break and come back refreshed and ready to learn. He says he’s feeling good about the start of this school year, with a priority on safety and academic achievement.

Construction is underway on the consolidated high school project—to be known as Christian County High School, Home of Tigers—and he’s hopeful they’ll start seeing walls go up before the end of the year.

From here, they’ll be looking into branding and designs for the new school, and how they want to plan for the academy model of learning.

Bentzel says more information could be released soon about a possible hiring event focused on substitute bus drivers, so stay tuned to the Christian County Public Schools Facebook page for more information.
