Tennessee Highway Patrol investigating fatal crash on I-24

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating a collision near the 11-mile-marker of I-24 eastbound near Clarksville that killed one person and injured another. 

According to the preliminary report, a vehicle was parked in the left shoulder of I-24 nearly 11-mile marker and partially in the left lane of travel, when it was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by 35-year-old Challise Martin of Tennessee. The force of the crash knocked that vehicle into the eastbound lanes, closing the roadway for several hours.

A passenger in the parked car, 60-year-old Lisa Washington of Tennessee, was killed in the crash. Martin was injured.

The investigation continues.
