A Hopkinsville man is facing numerous charges following a high-speed pursuit on Pembroke Road early Monday morning.
According to a news release, deputies with the Chrisitan County Sheriff’s Department observed a vehicle travelling at a high-rate of speed on Pembroke Road in the area of Edwards Mill Road. When deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop the driver, identified as 33-year-old Malik Travis-Dquan Bryant, allegedly sped up and attempted to allude officers.
He allegedly reached speeds of 100 miles per hour and reportedly cut off other vehicles. The pursuit continued to the parking lot of a factory on Frank Yost Lane, where he stopped and was taken into custody.
Bryant reportedly told deputies that he was late for work and should have stopped, but decided not to.
He was charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, speeding, reckless driving and numerous traffic related violations.
