This week’s Jennie Stuart Orthopedic-Michael Venable State Farm Player of the Week is Prince Northington II.
Northington is a senior football player at Christian County High School.
As far as a designated position on the field, that is a box that Prince does not fit in.
Wide receiver, running back, quarterback, kickoff/punt returner, and cornerback are all positions Prince has been tasked to perform in.
In last week’s 22-14 win for Christian Co. against Caldwell Co., Northington scored all 3 of the Colonels touchdowns (2 receiving, 1 rushing).
During practice, Northington took time to talk about his performance last week.
Prince also talked his early beginnings in football and mentioned the ongoing Bud Hudson youth football league as part of his stomping grounds.
With district play just a bit over a week away, Northington discussed his thoughts on the upcoming key games.
Before the season started head coach of the Colonel Football team Zach Self made it known that he expected Northington to have an impactful year and that is exactly what he has done so far leading the team in touchdowns on the year with 6 through 5 games.
Self shared his thoughts on Northington’s performance in the Caldwell Co. win.
Coach Self also discussed how versatile Prince’s game is and how it helps the team and his chances at playing collegiate football.
The 2-3 Colonels will be in action tonight for some Thursday night high school football, on the road taking on the 4-2 Bowling Green Purples at 7:00 PM.
The F&M Bank pregame show will begin at 6:20 PM on 95.3 The Farm.
