High School Football Preview: Christian Co. @ Bowling Green

Tonight the 2-3 Christian Co. Colonels will travel to take on the 4-2 Bowling Green Purples. The Colonels will look for revenge as they loss to Bowling Green 50-7 last season.

Christian Co. will be without their number-one signal caller and starting corner Jordan Miles as he is still recovering from a back injury suffered last week against Caldwell Co.

Standing in the gap at the quarterback position will be Prince Northington II once again.

Northington is 8/18 on passing this season for and has thrown 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions.

Similar to Miles, Northington will be expected to have multiple carries at the quarterback position as he is second on the team in rushing yards behind Miles.

On defense, the Colonels are led by D Wilford who leads the team with 47 tackles including 7 tackles for loss

The Purples have not missed a beat since last season and are currently the number 3-ranked 5A team according to MaxPreps and are the 18th highest ranked team in the state.

For Bowling Green, they are led by quarterback Deuce Bailey who has 1,691 passing yards, 19 passing touchdowns, and 4 rushing touchdowns.

Bailey’s number one target is Trevy Barber with 8 touchdown receptions and 477 receiving yards.

Grayson Newman and Max Buchanon spearhead the defense having 37 and 36 total tackles respectfully. Newman also leads the team in interceptions with 3 while Buchanon has 2.
