A Somerset woman was flown to a hospital in Nashville following a single-vehicle crash on Cadiz Road in Christian County Sunday.
According to the Christian County Sheriff’s Department report, 69-year-old Ruby Leidenheimer of Somerset was heading east on Cadiz Road near the 400 block when the vehicle ran off the roadway for an unknown reason. The vehicle continued at a high-rate of speed and hit a drainage ditch with a metal railing cover, before proceeding through a fence and colliding with two mailboxes that were secured by bricks.
It is believed that the incident was caused by a medical emergency.
Leidenheimer was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center and from there was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for her injuries.
