Trigg County has received $2.5 million in funding for the Governor’s Office, to go towards projects such as expanding high speed internet, economic development and waste disposal improvements.
Governor Beshear made a stop in Cadiz Friday to present the funding, including $11,000 from the Energy and Environment Cabinet, which will support efforts to help residents safely dispose of household hazardous waste, $225,000 to the Trigg County Fiscal Court for its $450,000 project in partnership with the Cadiz-Trigg County Industrial Development Authority to construct a new wastewater pump station at the Interstate-24 Business Park.
Approximately $2.3 million presented Friday is from the recent announcement of historic funding to go towards expanding and improving high-speed internet access in the state.
Representative Walker Thomas says, “whether it is water infrastructure, funding for hazardous waste recycling or broadband assistance, the legislature has fought to make sure our local facets are taken care of. I look forward to seeing these projects take shape.”
