The grandstands at the Western Kentucky State Fairgrounds will be open Friday and Saturday evening, as the familiar sounds of tractors and vehicles fill the air for competitive events.
Fair Board Chair Brad Hewell spoke with WHOP News Friday morning and says they’re excited to bring some mid-season tractor pulls to Hopkinsville for people to enjoy Friday starting at 7 p.m. and then Saturday shows the return of Jump and Run and the Demolition Derby, always a crowd favorite.
Hewell says ticket prices are the same both nights, at $10 per adult for the grandstands and $5 for children ages 6 through 12.
Before the Demolition Derby starts, they’ll have a return of a new event called Jump and Run, which is like a traditional race but with a little rough-housing involved. Hewell says they’re hoping to have a good line-up of cars for this event.
The cars aren’t quite as durable as demolition derby cars, but they are able to take a little damage and keep going.
Hewell says they hope people will come out and enjoy both nights of events, with the weather looking like it will cooperate with their plans. For more information on the events the Western Kentucky State Fair Board has planned, visit their Facebook page.
