A Hopkins County family was given keys to a new home on Wednesday after their home was destroyed in the December 10, 2021 tornado that devastated parts of Western Kentucky.
Gov. Andy Beshear and local leaders from the Fuller Center Disaster Rebuilders (FCDR) presented the keys to Zackory Russell, Eliza Watts and their children according to a news release from Beshear’s Office.
The home was partially funded by the Team Western Kentucky Tornado Relief Fund and Beshear expressed appreciation for all of those who donated to the Relief Fund.
According to the news release Russell and Watts said their lives changed forever as a result of the tornado in 2021 and they are grateful for the support from volunteers, nonprofits and Beshear, who helped them get their home back.
