The Christian County Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee Chili Cook-Off is fast approaching, and they’re still looking for teams to compete for not just bragging rights, but a cash prize.
The Chili Cook-Off and Cornbread Competition will take place September 22 in Founders Square in downtown Hopkinsville, looking to claim the title of the best. Cooking starts bright and early that day, but public sampling will start at 5 p.m. at $5 per person, with free tastings for military members. Holly Hampton says they’re still looking for teams for both the chili and cornbread competitions, with all the information on how to sign-up online.
The cornbread competition is only $10 to sign-up, but it does require that you use only local ingredients.
Chamber President and CEO Taylor Hayes says all about honoring and celebrating their military service members and their families in the community. He says the Chamber is focused on making this a great place to live, work and play.
The winners will be announced at 7 p.m. and the event will coincide with the Sounds and Six event with live music. For more information, visit the Christian County Chamber of Commerce website.
