After being announced as the Jennie Stuart Health-Michael Venable State Farm Player of the Week Jordan Miles spoke to WHOP on his football journey, the big win against Hoptown and his plans and hopes to play football at the next level.
Miles, a senior at Christian Co. High school had never experienced a win in all three years of his time as a Colonel. On September 1st, Jordan put on a heroic performance in the fourth quarter to help him, his fellow seniors, and the rest of the team get that first win.
“We’ve been working our butts off in practice for the last 3 or four years just wanting to get that game,” said Jordan. “It felt good to finally get that under my belt.”
Like many other players on the Colonel roster, Miles plays both sides as the ball as along with his quarterbacking duties, he also plays corner.
When it comes to playing at the next level, Jordan already has an offer to play corner in college but would like to see if he could pick up an offer as a signal caller.
However, he made it clear that he cares less of what he position he plays, and more of just playing in collegiately in the best possible situation.
Head coach of Christian County Football, Zach Self shared his thoughts on Miles and his recent performances.
“I’m very pleased with Jordan’s progress right now. He’s really starting to get a true command of the offense and as a leader of this team, his teammates have full trust in him and his capabilities and we’re starting to see that more and more as we play”
Christian County is currently 1-2 on the year after losing to South Gibson Co. (TN) the following week after the win against Hopkinsville. The Colonels will be in action at home this Friday, September 15, to take on Marian High School out of Illinois.
