Lithium battery manufacturer, Ascend Elements announced in a news release that they have raised $542 Million to accelerate the production of battery materials and to advance construction for their Commerce Park II facility.
Ascend is set to be one of the manufacturers to establish an industry site at Commerce Park II in Hopkinsville. The company is working toward constructing their Apex 1 Facility, which is tentatively set to be operational toward the end of 2024.
According to the news release the facility will be North America’s first sustainable cathode precursor and cathode active material manufacturing facility. Both are materials used for electric vehicle batteries.
