A Louisville man is facing numerous charges following a traffic stop early Friday morning on U.S. 79.
According to the Guthrie Police Department report, Officer Jacob Prittchett observed a vehicle speeding on U.S. 79 around 1 a.m. and initiated a traffic stop. Contact was made with the driver, 24-year-old Jamal Gardner of Louisville, and it was determined he had an active warrant.
He was taken into custody, and a search of the vehicle reportedly revealed $4,000 of counterfeit $20 bills along with marijuana. A passenger in the vehicle was cited for marijuana possession.
Gardner was arrested and charged with first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, which is a felony and a federal offense, along with speeding, failure to maintain insurance and no registration plates.
The Todd County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
