A Smith Street home was badly damaged by fire Thursday afternoon in Hopkinsville, and six people have been displaced.
The fire appears to have started in a vehicle sitting outside and the blaze spread to the home in the 700 block of Smith Street, according to the Hopkinsville Fire Department. Firefighters were quickly able to extinguish the fire, and everyone was able to safely evacuate from the structure.
Two adults and four children have been displaced and the Red Cross is assisting.
