Literacy Council announces Carolyn Haddock School Counselor Grant

The Christian County Early Literacy Council has announced the new Carolyn Haddock School Counselor Grant and applications are open now.

Carolyn Haddock, a longtime educator in Christian County and early literacy advocate, served as a teacher at Morningside Elementary School before becoming their first full-time school counselor. She became widely known and beloved as “Mrs. Pickle” and would provide pickle-themed guidance lessons for children across the school system.

Haddock passed away in 2022 at the age of 75.

In here honor, the Literacy Council will award a $300 grant to a school counselor currently employed at a public or private school in Christian County. Applications can be found online through the Christian County Early Literacy Council Facebook page.
