Nortonville man killed in Caldwell County collision

A Nortonville man was killed in a wreck in Caldwell County Wednesday and Kentucky State Police are investigating.

According to a news release, troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on I-69 near the 86 mile marker and preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by 23-year-old Erik Putman of Nortonville rearended a semi-truck.

The Freightliner had been stopped in the left northbound lane due to mechanical problems when Putman struck it from behind. He was declared deceased at the scene by the Caldwell County Coroner.

KSP was assisted on scene by Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office, Princeton Fire Department, and Caldwell County EMS.
