Western Kentucky highlighted in slight risk for severe weather Wednesday

All of western Kentucky, including Christian, Todd and Trigg Counties, is now highlighted under a slight risk for severe weather Wednesday.

That’s according to the National Weather Service in Paducah, with forecasters saying two rounds of storms will be possible, one early Wednesday and a second round late Wednesday afternoon and into the evening.

The main hazards from any storms that develop will be damaging winds and heavy rain, with localized flooding possible in areas where storms train and have already had a lot of rain recently. An isolated tornado also cannot be ruled out.

Stay tuned to the WHOP Family of Stations for any watches or warnings that develop with this storm system.
