Kentucky State Police appoint new command staff members

The Kentucky State Police announced the promotion of two members to command staff roles.

Major Jeremy Hamm was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel of the Office of Administrative Services Division and Captain Emily Horton was promoted to Major of the Division of Commercial Vehicle Enforcement.

In a news release from KSP, Police Commissioner Phillip Burnette Jr. says he is excited to have both Hamm and Horton join their command staff team.

Hamm has served 20 years with KSP and now as Lieutenant Colonel of the Office of Services Division he will be responsible for overseeing the professional and operational support troops.

In his new position, Hamm says he plans to continue with innovative initiatives to maintain KSP’s position as a premier law enforcement agency.

Horton has served 15 years with KSP and now as the Major of the Division of Commercial Vehicle Enforcement she will be responsible for overseeing and enforcing commercial traffic regulations.

Horton says she is both humbled and honored to be promoted to such an elite position in a premier law enforcement agency.
