Christian Co. Invitational recap (w/photos)

The Christian Co. Boys’ Golf Invitational took place on Friday, August 4th at the Western Hills Golf Course in Hopkinsville.

The event faced some weather troubles as it was raining for most of the action and lightning even delayed the event in the morning as well. But after a break, things were able to be finished as Greenwood High came out on top as a team with a score of 287.

Jacob Lang had the best score for Greenwood with a 68 which was also tied for first place in the individual standings with Ohio County’s Seth Moore, and Josh Thompson from Henderson Co.

In local action, Hopkinsville High shot a 305 being led by Joey Falco with a 73 and Christian Co. had a score of 356 with Tay Martinez posting the lowest score of the Colonels with an 86.

University Heights Academy only had three golfers compete in the event so they were not counted as a team but were led by Hayden Hunt with a 75.

Heritage Christian Academy also made an appearance as their lone golfer at the school in Carson Powell shot a 91.

Although the boys were able to finish, due to the weather, the girls invitational slated for later in the afternoon was cancelled.  The invitational however could be made up later in the season.
