The region, including all of western Kentucky and Christian, Todd and Trigg counties, are under a slight risk of severe weather for Sunday afternoon and evening.
That’s according to the National Weather Service in Paducah, which says storms are most likely to develop during the evening hours. Large hail and damaging winds will be the primary hazards from any storms that develop, and some could also create very heavy rainfall at times.
Where heavy rain has already fallen will be primed for flooding issues, especially in the usual low-lying and poor drainage areas.
The chance for severe weather returns on Wednesday, where severe storms will again be possible, so stay weather aware as you head into the work week.
Stay tuned to the WHOP Family of Stations for more on these developing storm systems.
