The first day of school for students in Christian County is August 9, and there’s still time to finish up registration while open house events are underway this week.
Open houses for the elementary schools took place Tuesday, but they get underway Thursday for the middle and high schools from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and then Gateway Academy’s open house takes place from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
CCPS Spokesperson Johnna Brown says there’s still time to finish up registration for your students and any remaining paperwork can be turned in at those open houses.
She says they’re also excited to announce they received a grant from Pilot Flying J and partnered with Office Max of Hopkinsville to have over 1,500 new backpacks for students who need one for the school year.
Those interested can inquire about a backpack at the open house events, or they can reach out to the Family and Youth Resource Centers for more information.
