A Hopkinsville man is facing several charges, including for third-degree assault of an officer, after he allegedly fought with multiple people on South Kentucky Avenue Sunday.
According to the Hopkinsville police report, officers responded to reports of a disturbance at a residence on South Kentucky around 6:45 p.m. Sunday and while on scene, witnessed 24-year-old Jose Calcoy start to attack his family members. Officers took Calcoy to the ground, where he allegedly continued to fight with officers and was eventually tazed.
Calcoy would reportedly continue to struggle, ignoring officer commands, until a K-9 officer arrived on scene and he was taken into custody.
He was arrested and charged with third-degree assault of a police officer, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and alcohol intoxication in a public place.
