A head-on collision involving a semi-truck early Friday morning closed the roadway for several hours on Interstate 24 in Trigg County and sent three people to the hospital.
According to Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Trigg County Emergency Management reported that a pickup truck was traveling east in the westbound lanes, and a driver of a tractor-trailer tried to avoid a head-on collision. The two still collided, and the semi ran into the median barrier cable after.
Both drivers and an occupant of the semi who was in the sleeper of the semi were transported to local hospitals.
The westbound lanes were blocked for several hours, then restricted to one lane for several hours while the crash site was being cleared.
