(Cincinnati, OH) — The Cincinnati Bengals are dealing with a major injury to their star quarterback. Joe Burrow was carted off the field during Thursday’s practice with a calf strain. Head coach Zac Taylor says Burrow went down on a scramble at the end of a training drill. Taylor didn’t say how serious the injury was, but told the media “We’ll get more information as we go.” Burrow missed time during last year’s training camp with a ruptured appendix and was sidelined in the summer of 2021 after recovering from knee surgery. The former LSU product threw for 4,475 yards, 35 touchdowns and 12 interceptions last season. He was originally selected by Cincinnati first overall in the 2020 draft.

(Miami, FL) — One of the NFL’s top defenders is slated to miss the start of the new season. The NFL Network is reporting that Miami Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey is set to undergo surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. The 28-year-old was injured during a collision with wide receiver Tyreek Hill during a drill on Thursday. Ramsey is expected to miss six-to-eight weeks with the injury. The six-time Pro Bowler posted on social media that he will “be back on that field stronger than ever” following his rehab.

(Florham Park, NJ) — The Jets are hoping to add another star player to their offense. Free agent running back Dalvin Cook is scheduled to visit Gang Green this weekend. The visit was scheduled one day after quarterback Aaron Rodgers agreed to restructure his contract. Rodgers was due to make close to 110-million-dollars in guarantees on his previous contract, but will now make 75-million-dollars guaranteed over the next two seasons. Cook was released back in June by the Minnesota Vikings, the team that drafted him 41st overall in 2017, to free up cap space. The 27-year-old carried the ball 264 times for 1,173 yards and eight touchdowns last season.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has guaranteed that he is “going to lessen” his interception numbers this season. Prescott tied for the NFL-lead last season with 15 interceptions, despite playing in only 12 games. Even with his guarantee to stop turning the ball over, the 29-year-old signal caller said that he is “not going to stop being aggressive.” Prescott has thrown 166 touchdowns and 65 interceptions in his seven-year career.

The Hall of Fame also announced 12 senior candidates for the Class of 2024. Kawa replied to that comment, “I doubt it.” Taylor is set to make 4.3-million-dollars next season in the final year of his rookie contract.
