Dawson Springs is gearing up to have a big event this weekend, as the 75th annual Dawson Springs BBQ gets underway Friday and continues through Saturday.
Things get started at 11 a.m. Friday and continue until the evening, with food, drinks, live music, vendors, fair games with a street fair and much more, before a fireworks show takes place at roughly 9 p.m.
Festivities get back underway bright and early Saturday at 7:30 a.m. with a 5K race at the community center, a golf scramble at 8 a.m. at Pennyrile State Park and the Cars and Coffee show going from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the square downtown. There will be prizes given out all weekend, with raffle tickets available on site.
There will be more BBQ on hand than most people could begin to eat, but visitors are certainly welcome to try. For more information, visit the Dawson Springs Community Center Facebook page.
