Pennyroyal Arts Council gears up for new season productions

With Fall right around the corner, the Pennyroyal Arts Council is preparing for their 2023-24 season shows.

Arts Council Executive Director, Margaret Prim spoke on WHOP on Wednesday about the shows that are set to kick off in September.

Along with the Beatles tribute, Sons of Mystro and Christmas in Killarney musical productions, Prim says there will be an Aretha Franklin inspired show, a clean comedy show hosted by comedian Jen Kober and bluegrass tunes from band Steep Canyon Rangers.

Before the first official shows of the season, The Arts Council is focusing on helping other theater programs in the community with their event An Evening on Broadway on September 9 which serves to raise funds for community theaters.

An Evening on Broadway will feature theatrical songs performed by the members of the band, Bachelors of Broadway: Gentlemen of the Theatre.  Attendees will hear songs from shows such as “Wicked,” “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Hamilton” and much more.

Along with working toward raising money for community theaters, the Arts Council is currently working toward raising money for themselves in their annual fund drive with the goal of raising $75,000 to go toward yearly expenses.
