The contract also includes 133.7-million dollars fully guaranteed, which could rise to 218.7-million guaranteed. Herbert has thrown for over 14-thousand yards and 94 touchdowns through his first three seasons in the NFL.

Reid said that “there’s a chance for the first game” when asked how long he expects the 24-year-old speedster to be sidelined. Toney was injured while returning a punt prior to practice on Sunday, when he is said to have “tweaked” the knee.

(Canton, OH) — The life of an NFL legend will be celebrated during Hall of Fame weekend. The league announced Jim Brown will be honored as part of its build up to August 5th’s induction ceremony. The running back played for the Browns from 1957 to 1965. He was the league’s rushing leader in almost every year of his pro football career and led Cleveland to an NFL title in 1964. Brown passed away back in May. Team owner Jimmy Haslam said, “To do it in Canton, a lot of the gold jackets will be there. I think it’s appropriate to honor his legacy.” In addition, the Browns and New York Jets will square off in the annual Hall of Fame Game next Thursday.

Both are expected to be ready by Week One.

(Santa Clara, CA) — The 49ers won’t be placing quarterback Brock Purdy on the Physically Unable to Perform list. San Francisco general manager John Lynch said Tuesday that the quarterback has been cleared to participate in practice. Purdy has been recovering from a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow and won’t be allowed to throw more than two days in a row during training camp. Lynch added that the seventh-round draft pick will be practicing with the starting offense as the presumed starting quarterback.
