Bond hearing set in Princess Theater murder case

A bond hearing was set Wednesday in Christian Circuit Court for later in August for Princess Theater murder suspect Deovion Day.

Day is accused in the fatal shooting of Aniyah Collins and the wounding of Gteria Acree—his attorney requested a bond hearing be set where they can argue for a bond modification for Day. Judge Andrew Self set a hearing for August 28.

An arrest warrant says 21-year old Zamarius Humphries pulled a gun on 27-year old Jaquavian Spencer after an event at the Princess Theater in November of 2021 and that Spencer then pulled his own gun and shot Humphries in the neck.

That’s when Day allegedly began firing a gun at Spencer and fatally struck Collins, who was in her car attempting to leave. His gunfire also hit Acree, who was in a parking lot at the corner of East Eighth and Virginia Street, causing injuries.
