Parks and Recreation announce plans for Movies in the Park, Summer Salute

Outgoing Parks and Recreation Superintendent Tab Brockman and current superintendent Toby Hudson appeared on WHOP on Tuesday to share upcoming Movies in the Park showings and Summer Salute updates.

With the summer winding down, Hudson talked about the second to last Movie in the Park showing this summer, which is Friday’s showing of “Puss in Boots, the last wish” at 8 p.m. at Pardue Lane Trailhead, the Hopkinsville Dog Park.

The next and final Movie in the Park will be a showing of “Lightywear” on August 11 at 8 p.m. at Ruff Park Complex.

With Summer Salute nearly a month away, Brockman made a first-time announcement on air saying that Barracuda-America’s Heart Tribute band will be opening for Starship featuring Mickey Thomas on the first day of the event.

Barracuda-America’s Heart Tribute is a tribute band from Nashville that pays homage to Rock and Roll Hall of Famers.

Along with announcing Friday’s opening act, the pair shared more of the festivities that will be taking place in downtown Hopkinsville during the Summer Salute weekend such as the Top Gun Car Show and Cruise and a silent disco.
